Responsibilities include diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions, performing examinations and procedures, prescribing treatments, and promoting preventive health measures. This role ensures high-quality, evidence-based care in compliance with regulatory standards. This job description outlines key responsibilities but is not exhaustive. Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree with completed residency.
  • Current Iowa Medical License, DEA, and CSA registration
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred.
  • Dependent Adult & Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training.
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and patient education abilities.

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive physical exams and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic illnesses across patient populations.
  • Order and interpret laboratory, radiographic, and diagnostic tests.
  • Formulate differential diagnoses and develop multidisciplinary care plans.
  • Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Provide emergency care and stabilization as needed, following BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS, and NRP standards.
  • Deliver inpatient attending coverage when necessary and/or scheduled.
  • Educate patients, families, and communities on health promotion and disease prevention.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control standards.
  • Promote patient and staff safety in all aspects of care.
