About The Position

This is an outpatient coverage position for a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA). The role involves providing comprehensive patient care, diagnosing and treating medical conditions, developing treatment plans, ordering and interpreting tests, prescribing medications, and educating patients. The position requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a healthcare team. The assignment is for a Family Practice NP/PA to cover for paternity leave, starting as soon as credentialed and running through January 12. The practice sees an average of 18 patients per day (PPD) and the patient population includes all ages. The EMR system used is EPIC. Credentialing can take 90-120 days.

Requirements

Active Washington licensure
Board certification
AHA BLS certifications
Minimum 1-year Family Practice experience or equivalent
Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Washington
National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP])
Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Washington
National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics)
Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Order and interpret diagnostic tests
Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices
Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
