About The Position
Nova Scotia Health is seeking 1-2 family physicians to join the Guysborough Memorial Hospital (GMH). This role involves working in the facility's family practice clinic, Level 4 Emergency Department, inpatient care, and the adjacent long-term care facility. GMH serves the residents of Guysborough County and is supported by specialists at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital and other provincial healthcare facilities. Physicians will be part of Nova Scotia's healthcare ecosystem, contributing to innovative and compassionate care.
Requirements
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
- Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
Responsibilities
- Full scope of practice as a family physician providing care to patients within the eastern zone.
- Participating in call.
- Operating within the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.
- Nursing Home coverage (optional).
- Urgent Treatment Centre coverage (optional).
