About The Position

Timberlea Medical Centre is seeking a family physician to join its established and collaborative team. The incoming physician will provide comprehensive primary care services to a rostered patient population, with the opportunity to build and expand their panel. The role includes participation in a team-based care model, working closely with physicians, a nurse practitioner, and nursing staff to support patient care. Physicians have access to a dedicated procedure room for minor in-office procedures, as well as internal referral options within the Ravines network for specialized services. Clinic hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no required call schedule. There is flexibility for physicians who wish to offer extended hours or additional services. The clinic uses TELUS Med Access as its electronic medical record system. This opportunity is well-suited for a physician seeking a flexible practice model, with options for full-time or near full-time (0.8 FTE or greater) engagement in a supportive, team-oriented setting.

Requirements

Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)

Responsibilities

Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures
Advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners
Act as a patient’s advocate
Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
