About The Position

Humber River Health (HRH) is a multi-site organization serving a large population in the northwest Greater Toronto Area. It operates a fully digital acute care facility and reactivation care centers. As an associate member of the Toronto Academic Health Sciences Network (TAHSN), HRH partners with the University of Toronto to offer academic opportunities, including the Schulich Family Medicine Teaching Unit, which provides training for residents with academic and community-based family physicians and interdisciplinary teams. This position is for a Family Physician (Academic) at the Schulich Family Medicine Teaching Unit (FMTU) within Humber River Health. The role involves joining a supportive team of six academic family physicians. The physician will establish a full-time comprehensive family practice while actively participating in the teaching and supervision of residents and medical students. Clinical care is expected for a minimum of five half-days per week, alongside weekly learner supervision. Leadership opportunities within the FMTU may be available. The FMTU is supported by an interprofessional team, including nursing, social work, and dietetics, and operates within a Family Health Organization (FHO) model.

Requirements

  • Family physician with an interest in medical education.
  • Ability to provide clinical care a minimum of five half-days per week.
