About The Position

Columbia Community Mental Health is a nonprofit agency and Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic that provides services to individuals with mental, addiction and developmental disabilities. The Peer Support Specialist, as part of an integrated care team, will provide peer-based, supportive services to adults, children, adolescents, and families as assigned by a designated QMHP, Clinical Supervisor or Administrator. The Peer Support Specialist may be assigned to any agency program including, but not limited to: ACT, Crisis, Intensive Services, Outpatient, Jail Diversion, Wrap, Residential or Detox. Essential duties may vary per location/department/position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social services field required and/or ability to be qualified as a QMHA.
  • CADC I required or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
  • Must have a Peer Support Specialist certification by the State of Oregon or the ability to obtain certification within 3 months.
  • Combination of education/experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties outlined for this position may be considered.
  • History of working cooperatively in a team.

  • 1-3 years related work experience preferred.
