About The Position

The Family Peer Support Specialist engages, inspires, and encourages participants, their families, families of choice, and natural supports to actively support participants’ recovery plans. As part of an integrated service team, the specialist promotes and reinforces Telecare’s Recovery Culture, as defined by the Telecare Recovery Centered Clinical System (RCCS). This approach recognizes, understands, respects, and integrates each participant’s and supporters’ perspectives and preferences into services and self-help programming. The specialist also responds to critical situations using high-level engagement and de-escalation skills to support a least restrictive environment during behavioral health emergencies.
