This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Bayshore Family Success Center Family Partner at The YMCA of Greater Monmouth County intentionally fosters a cause-centered culture that is welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing, and determined.

Requirements

• Associates degree in human service field (or in process).
• Demonstration of high level of cultural competency and responsiveness.
• Previous professional experience in the provision of prevention related programs.
• Must possess a valid NJ Driver’s License
• Skills in problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial contact with families and set up initial appointment for Family Success Plan development.
• Assist families with complex issues and provide follow up and advocacy when needed.
• Assist families with making appointments and navigation through the social service system.
• Assist with providing families with information about different service programs.
• Incorporate and implement the Principles of Family Support and the Protective Factors into all aspects of work.
• Participate and assist in coordination of Family Success Center activities and events.
• Facilitate parent involvement and parent leadership at the Family Success Center.
• Complete other tasks as assigned.
