About The Position

High Tech High (HTH) is seeking a Family Outreach Coordinator to join their team. HTH is a network of K-12 public charter schools in San Diego County, founded on the principles of equity, personalization, authentic work, and collaborative design. This role is crucial for fostering family engagement and ensuring families have a voice in school decisions and resource allocation.

Requirements

Experience in community building and family engagement.
Experience in planning and facilitating meetings and events.
Ability to communicate regularly with families via newsletter, email, and in person.
Familiarity with LCAP and Title I resource decision-making processes.
Experience administering and marketing surveys.
Successful completion of a background check.

Experience exploring and executing ways to increase participation.
Experience exploring alternate ways for families to participate (alternate meeting sites, virtual meetings, etc.).

Responsibilities

Provide multiple avenues for family engagement, including regular communication via newsletter, email, and in person.
Plan and facilitate monthly family engagement meetings (10 total) to build understanding of school work.
Plan and facilitate experiential learning experiences for families and community members.
Explore and execute strategies to increase family participation in meetings.
Explore alternate ways for families to participate, such as alternate meeting sites or virtual meetings.
Provide multiple avenues for family participation in LCAP and Title I resource decision-making.
Plan and facilitate two family meetings each year focused on LCAP/Title I, in conjunction with K-12 directors.
Market these meetings to encourage attendance.
Provide alternate avenues for family input.
Administer and market the annual family Youth Truth survey, with a goal of increasing participation.
