About The Position

The Family Office Strategist ("FO Strategist") is a senior specialist responsible for expanding and deepening the Private Bank's Family Office business among ultra-high-net-worth families. Embedded within the Private Bank coverage model, the FO Strategist brings deep expertise across family office structures, governance, operations, investments, strategic capital solutions, and multigenerational wealth planning to help clients address increasingly complex needs. The role combines advisory expertise with a strong commercial orientation, helping identify opportunities, accelerate relationship growth, and position the full capabilities of Bank of America on behalf of some of the firm's most sophisticated clients. Through thought leadership, strategic consultation, and enterprise connectivity, the FO Strategist helps deliver an institutional-quality Family Office experience that differentiates the Private Bank in the $100M+ wealth segment. Success in this role requires the ability to navigate complex family dynamics, uncover emerging client needs, influence across a highly matrixed organization, and connect clients to the broad resources of Bank of America, including investments, private markets, strategic banking and lending solutions, treasury capabilities, family governance resources, and next-generation engagement programs.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience serving Family Offices, UHNW clients, institutional investors, or complex wealth management relationships.
  • Deep understanding of Family Office governance, operations, investment management, credit, treasury, and wealth structuring solutions.
  • Proven business development and consultative sales experience with a demonstrated ability to drive growth and influence outcomes.
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and translate client needs into integrated solutions.
  • Exceptional communication, executive presence, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to navigate complex organizations and mobilize resources across multiple business lines.
  • Demonstrated success working with sophisticated clients, family principals, and external professional advisors.
  • Self-motivated, highly collaborative, and comfortable operating in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
  • Minimum Education Requirement: High School Diploma / GED / Secondary School or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the firm's Family Office specialist, providing guidance on family office structures, governance, operating models, and best practices.
  • Lead sophisticated discussions with clients, family members, and professional advisors regarding the evolving needs of complex family enterprises.
  • Deliver thought leadership and education on issues impacting Family Offices, including organizational design, generational transitions, investment trends, and operational effectiveness.
  • Drive growth of the Family Office business by identifying opportunities across existing and prospective client relationships.
  • Expand market share within the ultra-high-net-worth and Family Office segment through proactive opportunity identification and strategic relationship development.
  • Increase penetration of key solutions, including alternative investments, private markets, strategic capital, treasury, and banking capabilities.
  • Serve as a central point of coordination across the broader Bank of America platform to deliver integrated solutions for Family Office clients.
  • Facilitate collaboration with partners across Investments, Credit, Treasury, Global Markets, Global Commercial Banking, Global Corporate & Investment Banking, Trust and Estate Planning, and Philanthropic Solutions.
  • Ensure clients can effectively access the full breadth of enterprise capabilities through a coordinated and seamless experience.
  • Engage current and future family leaders through educational programs, governance discussions, and relationship-building initiatives.
  • Support families navigating generational transitions and evolving leadership dynamics.
  • Advance strategies designed to strengthen long-term retention, connectivity, and growth across multiple generations.
  • Promote Family Office operating capabilities, technology solutions, treasury infrastructure, and service models that improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Identify emerging industry trends and client needs to inform strategic direction and platform development.
  • Contribute to initiatives that enhance the Private Bank's Family Office value proposition and competitive positioning.
