Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ Finance or equivalent.
  • Two (2) to five (5) years of accounting and/or bookkeeping experience.
  • Strong knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficient in business software applications, i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally; must have proven ability to maintain high confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within accounting software such as Sage and/or QuickBooks. Sage is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience within a family office setting, real estate, investment and/or wealth management institution.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a log of all of the journal entries and preparing the majority of the journal entries in the general ledger.
  • Analyzing appropriate balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Bill pay functions.
  • Preparing bank reconciliation on a monthly basis.
  • Check processing when needed.
  • Maintaining several ad hoc spreadsheets.
