About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their growing team in Monroeville, AL. The FNP will provide patient-focused care in urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine settings. The role requires the ability to lead a small team in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. This opportunity is open to new graduates and offers comprehensive training, including an on-site HQ orientation, training shifts with experienced providers, a complimentary pediatric urgent care CE course, and an NP on-call for clinical support. The position allows FNPs to utilize their full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages from babies to geriatrics, which helps maintain and enhance clinical skills. The FNP will act as the primary medical provider in the clinic, leading a team of medical assistants and utilizing treatment protocols for decision-making. The role also supports rural communities by providing accessible care and assisting with applications for tuition reimbursement grants or student loan reimbursement grants. This position is described as a "rocket ship" for career growth, with a two-year commitment expected.

Requirements

  • Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification required.
  • MSN, or higher education required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.
  • DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (company covers the cost).

Responsibilities

  • Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
  • Diagnose and treat cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
  • Perform minor procedures such as toenail removal and foreign object removal.
  • Suture.
  • Splint.
  • Perform general orthopedic evaluations/management.
  • Review x-rays (to be over-read by Radiologist).
  • Handle general dermatology issues.
  • Address general eye problems.
  • Perform general EKG interpretations.
  • Utilize emergency management skills.
  • Apply general GYN expertise.
  • Treat children of all ages.
  • Provide occupational medicine services.
  • Conduct telemedicine appointments.
