About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their growing team in Kinston, NC. This role focuses on providing patient-centered care to help patients feel better quickly, with services including urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. The ideal candidate will be able to lead a small team in a high-volume, fast-paced urgent care setting. This opportunity is suitable for new graduates, offering comprehensive orientation, training shifts with experienced providers, and ongoing support such as a complimentary pediatric urgent care course and an on-call provider for clinical decision-making. FNPs will utilize their full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages from infants to geriatrics, which helps maintain and enhance marketable skills. The role emphasizes leadership, with FNPs acting as the primary medical provider in the clinic, supported by treatment protocols and a team of medical assistants whom they will mentor. The position also supports rural communities by providing accessible care and assisting with applications for state-funded tuition reimbursement or student loan reimbursement grants. This role is presented as a two-year commitment with significant returns for career growth and community impact.

Requirements

  • Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification required.
  • MSN, or higher education required.
  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Are you DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (we cover the cost of the certification)?

Responsibilities

  • Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
  • Diagnose and treat cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
  • Perform minor procedures such as toenail removal and foreign object removal.
  • Suture and splint.
  • Conduct general orthopedic evaluations and management.
  • Review x-rays (to be over-read by Radiologist).
  • Handle general dermatology and general eye problems.
  • Perform general EKG interpretations.
  • Utilize emergency management skills.
  • Demonstrate general GYN expertise.
  • Treat children of all ages.
  • Provide occupational medicine services.
  • Conduct telemedicine appointments.
