About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their growing team in Kinston, NC. The FNP will provide patient-focused care, including urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. This role is suitable for new graduates and offers comprehensive training and ongoing support, including a complimentary pediatric urgent care course and a provider on-call for clinical decision-making. The position allows FNPs to utilize their full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages, which helps maintain and enhance marketable skills. The FNP will lead a small team, acting as a professional role model for medical assistants and contributing to the support of rural communities that have limited access to care. Many clinics qualify for tuition reimbursement or student loan reimbursement grants, and the company assists with the application process. This role is a two-year commitment with the potential for significant career growth.

Requirements

  • Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification required.
  • MSN, or higher education required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.
  • DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (company covers the cost).

Responsibilities

  • Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
  • Diagnose and treat common illnesses such as cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
  • Perform minor procedures including toenail removal, foreign object removal, and suturing.
  • Splinting and general orthopedic evaluations/management.
  • Review x-rays (to be over-read by Radiologist).
  • Manage general dermatology and general eye problems.
  • Perform general EKG interpretations.
  • Utilize emergency management skills.
  • Provide general GYN expertise.
  • Treat children of all ages.
  • Provide occupational medicine services.
  • Conduct telemedicine appointments.
