About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their team in Elizabeth City, NC. This role focuses on providing patient-centered care in an urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine setting. The FNP will lead a small team in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. The position is open to new graduates and offers comprehensive training and ongoing support, including a complimentary UpToDate subscription and a provider on-call for clinical decision-making assistance. FNPs will utilize their full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages, from infants to geriatrics. The role emphasizes leadership within the clinic team, with protocols to guide decision-making and opportunities to mentor medical assistants. MainStreet clinics serve rural communities with limited access to care, operating 362 days a year. The company supports employees in applying for state-funded tuition reimbursement or student loan reimbursement grants. This position is presented as a two-year commitment with long-term career growth potential.

Requirements

  • Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification required.
  • MSN, or higher education required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.
  • Are you DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (we cover the cost of the certification)?

Responsibilities

  • Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
  • Diagnose and treat cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
  • Perform minor procedures (toenail removal, foreign object removal, etc.).
  • Suture.
  • Splint.
  • Perform general orthopedic evaluations/management.
  • Review x-rays (to be over-read by Radiologist).
  • Handle general dermatology issues.
  • Address general eye problems.
  • Perform general EKG interpretations.
  • Utilize emergency management skills.
  • Demonstrate general GYN expertise.
  • Treat children of all ages.
  • Provide occupational medicine services.
  • Conduct telemedicine appointments.
