About The Position

Rite Path Behavioral Health is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and motivated Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our growing outpatient healthcare team. We are currently seeking one FNP for our Queen Creek location and one FNP for our Tempe location, or one FNP who is willing to provide services at both locations. This is a part-time, 1099 independent contractor opportunity for an FNP interested in working within an outpatient behavioral health setting and helping us expand access to integrated medical and behavioral healthcare services. The ideal candidate is comfortable practicing independently within their scope while collaborating with behavioral health clinicians, psychiatric providers, and other members of the treatment team.

Requirements

  • Current and unrestricted Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure.
  • Current Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification from a nationally recognized certifying organization.
  • Current prescribing authority as required for the position.
  • DEA registration, if prescribing controlled substances.
  • Current National Provider Identifier (NPI).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain credentialing with applicable insurance plans, including AHCCCS.
  • Professional liability/malpractice insurance appropriate for independent contractor practice.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with an interdisciplinary clinical team.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in primary care, family medicine, community health, or integrated healthcare.
  • Experience working with patients who also receive behavioral health services.
  • Experience with AHCCCS/Medicaid and commercial insurance populations.
  • Experience working in an outpatient treatment setting.
  • Experience collaborating with behavioral health clinicians and psychiatric providers.
  • Interest in integrated behavioral and physical healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive and focused medical evaluations.
  • Provide primary care services within the FNP's scope of practice.
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Provide preventive care, routine health screenings, and wellness education.
  • Order, review, and interpret laboratory testing and other diagnostic studies as clinically appropriate.
  • Prescribe medications within Arizona scope-of-practice requirements.
  • Monitor medication effectiveness, side effects, and treatment outcomes.
  • Identify medical conditions that may contribute to or affect behavioral health symptoms.
  • Coordinate care with therapists, psychiatric providers, primary care providers, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Make appropriate referrals for specialty services or higher levels of medical care.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment recommendations, preventive care, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Participate in collaborative and integrated treatment planning when clinically appropriate.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable federal and Arizona laws, HIPAA requirements, professional standards, and Rite Path Behavioral Health policies and procedures.
