About The Position

The purpose of our Nurse Practitioner (NP) specializing in functional medicine will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in holistic and integrative medicine, excellent clinical skills, and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Requirements

  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner license and certification in Colorado.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, with a strong emphasis on IV therapy and integrative medicine.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Dexterous and able to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to keep a well-groomed, professional appearance.
  • Understands health and wellness trends.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, patients, members, and guests.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with a high degree of diplomacy and team involvement.
  • Must be a confident communicator and presenter. Tact, empathy, and self-discipline are traits required.
  • Must possess excellent organizational and planning skills. Needs to excel in problem solving and be analytical and detail orientated.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise judgement to resolve personnel and production issues that arise during daily operations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, team members, members, and general public.
  • Must be able to understand medical, and wellness related terminology including the various treatment modalities, equipment, and products.
  • Must effectively manage HIPAA and related compliance regulations.
  • Must be able to think critically and creatively, have knowledge of proper body mechanics to prevent injury.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examination, and evaluation of patient needs.
  • Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the integrative health team.
  • Incorporate integrative medicine principles into patient care, including nutritional counseling, lifestyle modification, and complementary therapies.
  • Offer ongoing support and follow-up to ensure adherence to treatment plans and optimal health outcomes.
  • Order, perform, or interpret the results of diagnostic tests.
  • Diagnose or treat acute health care problems such as illnesses, infections, and injuries.
  • Recommend interventions to modify behavior associated with health risks.
  • Detect and respond to adverse drug reactions, with attention to vulnerable populations such as infants, children, pregnant and lactating women, and older adults.
  • Educate patients about self-management of acute or chronic illnesses, tailoring instructions to patients' individual circumstances.
  • Educate patients on IV therapy benefits, potential risks, and treatment protocols.
  • Perform IV insertions and manage intravenous infusions, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Monitor patients during and after IV therapy to detect any adverse reactions and address complications promptly.
  • Adjust IV therapy protocols based on patient response and progress.
  • Provide comprehensive education to patients and their families regarding IV therapy and holistic health practices.
  • Develop educational materials and conduct workshops or seminars on integrative health topics.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and clinic policies.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all treatments and patient interactions in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Adhere to all clinical protocols, safety guidelines, and infection control procedures.
  • Stay updated with the latest research and advancements in integrative and holistic medicine.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge in integrative medicine.
  • Attend team meetings, case conferences, and collaborative care sessions.
