Family Nurse Practitioner or Advanced Practice RN - federal contract - IHS
About The Position
Vision Quest Solutions is seeking experienced and compassionate Family Nurse Practitioners (FNPs) and/or Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) to support the Pinon Health Center within the Navajo Area Indian Health Service in Arizona. This opportunity allows providers to make a meaningful impact in an underserved community while practicing broad-scope primary and acute care medicine in a collaborative clinical environment. The selected provider will deliver comprehensive patient-centered care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations in an outpatient and walk-in clinic setting. Providers may also support teen clinics, community outreach, and acute care services based on facility needs.
Requirements
- Current, unrestricted Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or APRN license
- National board certification
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent in-person clinical experience
- Current DEA registration
- Current BLS and CPR certification required
- ACLS and PALS preferred or required depending on assignment
- Ability to work independently in a rural healthcare setting
- Experience in outpatient, ambulatory, urgent care, or community health
Nice To Haves
- Indian Health Service, tribal health, rural health, or underserved community experience
- Pediatric and family practice experience
- Experience using electronic health records (EHR/EMR)
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning
- Provide primary and urgent care services across the lifespan
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and lab results
- Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Educate patients and families on preventive care and chronic disease management
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records documentation
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
