SEARHC is seeking a compassionate, full‑time Family Medicine with Obstetrics Physician to join an established and collegial primary care team at the Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center. This position offers a rewarding mix of outpatient and inpatient pediatrics, including hospital call responsibilities for newborn delivery attendance, newborn care, and pediatric admissions—allowing physicians to practice full‑spectrum while making a meaningful impact in the community. SEARHC is one of the largest Native-run healthcare organizations in the United States, committed to providing quality healthcare that honors the traditions of Alaska Native people and American Indians, while ensuring that advanced medical technologies are made accessible to all. The role involves practicing full-spectrum family medicine with obstetrics, including outpatient and inpatient care, and hospital call responsibilities. The physician will provide the highest quality evidenced based primary medical care, including pediatric and obstetrical care and deliveries. At times, the Physician may be directed to provide services outside of the clinic to meet the patient’s needs, e.g., local long-term care center, Pioneer Home, patient’s home, and local schools. The physician will also provide guidance, consultation, and advice to SEARHC Advanced Practice Clinicians and, when necessary, provide supervision and practice plan oversight. The role includes actively leading and managing a full panel of patients in coordination with the integrated care team, documenting all patient services in the medical record, participating in shared Obstetrics and Pediatric call rotation, and participating in SEARHC quality and performance improvement programs. The physician will maintain active staff membership at both healthcare facilities, provide medical education and teaching to visiting medical students and resident physicians, and participate in shared evening clinic and/or occasional weekend clinic coverage. The role also involves participating in ongoing medical education to maintain licensure and board certification. The physician may occasionally be called upon to be a consultative liaison to rural healthcare providers, which may include field visits to remote locations, and may occasionally be called upon for general hospitalist duties if the need or circumstances arise.
