About The Position

Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is seeking a Family Medicine Sports Medicine Physician (Assistant Professor) to join their team at the Gabriel Park location. This is a community setting clinic that serves a diverse patient population and is recognized for its high-quality patient care. The role involves providing full-spectrum family medicine care, including newborn to end-of-life care, obstetrics, substance use disorder treatment, and gender-affirming care. The physician will work collaboratively with faculty, contribute to teaching and research, and maintain an active practice. Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible.
  • Licensed in Oregon.
  • M.D./D.O. with OB degree.
  • Graduate medical education in an ACGME accredited Family Medicine Residency.
  • Capable of providing comprehensive health services.
  • Certified to prescribe.
  • Eligible for staff privileges at OHSU University Hospital, Hillsboro Medical Center Hospital and other specific community hospitals.

  • Training included uncomplicated and high risk OB management, surgical obstetrics, D&C, OB and pelvic ultrasound, colposcopy, family planning, vasectomies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full spectrum family medicine care.
  • Work collaboratively with full and part time faculty to maintain an active practice.
  • Provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.
  • Develop the practice into a vibrant clinical and academic operation.
  • Participate in continuing education, professional and faculty development and scholarship.
  • Directly see patients in their clinic eight half days per week.
  • Have two half days available for administrative duties/scholarship duties.
  • Receive one half day per week for scholarship.
  • Receive one half day per week for a combination of teaching and completion of administrative tasks.
  • Involvement with didactic and clinical supervision of fellows in the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at OHSU Family Medicine.
  • Be involved in the community in the role of team physician.
  • Document using the electronic health record and maintain complete and timely patient care documentation.
  • Be available for teaching activities including but not limited to resident precepting, student precepting, didactics and more.
  • Participate in seeing patients during expanded access hours in the clinic, including evenings and weekends, and call coverage.
  • Participate in the committee structure of the School of Medicine.
  • Attend faculty meetings.
  • Participate in faculty and professional development programs.
