Family Medicine Physician
About The Position
Proactive MD is hiring a Family Medicine Physician in Artesia, New Mexico, to provide patient-centered primary care through its Direct Primary Care model. The model emphasizes longer patient visits, smaller dedicated patient panels, preventive care, and meaningful long-term relationships. Physicians have clinical support and autonomy, with reduced charting and coding demands and no RVUs, productivity quotas, or volume-based incentives. The schedule is Monday and Wednesday from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM, and Friday off. Weekends are not required. The physician will work with Medical Assistants, Patient Advocates, and clinical leadership in a collaborative care environment, while supporting clinic health and wellness goals and serving as a clinical leader and role model.
Requirements
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
- Current, unrestricted New Mexico medical license.
- At least 1 year of post-residency clinical experience.
- BLS or ACLS certification.
- Strong clinical judgment and commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop strong relationships with patients and colleagues.
- Comfort working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care team.
- Passion for improving the patient experience and helping people live healthier lives.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, patient-centered primary care, including episodic and preventive care.
- Build meaningful, long-term relationships with a dedicated patient population.
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations, health-risk assessments, and medical history reviews.
- Develop individualized treatment plans in partnership with patients.
- Provide education and preventive health guidance.
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and other healthcare resources when appropriate.
- Collaborate with Medical Assistants, Patient Advocates, and clinical leadership to provide patient care.
- Participate in establishing and achieving clinic health and wellness goals.
- Serve as a clinical leader and role model for the care team.
- Support and model Proactive MD's mission, vision, values, and Patient Promise to fight for the patient's greatest good.
