About The Position

This opportunity is with a highly respected, well-established healthcare organization serving the Charleston metropolitan area and surrounding coastal communities of South Carolina. The primary care division continues to experience significant growth throughout the Charleston region and offers physicians access to advanced clinical resources, experienced support staff, and a strong referral network. The organization emphasizes preventive medicine, continuity of care, and long-term patient relationships. The facility is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Family Medicine Physician to join its outpatient primary care team in Charleston, South Carolina. This role includes: Outpatient primary care for patients of all ages, Chronic disease management (HTN, diabetes, COPD, thyroid disorders, etc.), Preventive care, annual wellness visits, and health screenings, Acute care visits and same-day appointments, Basic office procedures depending on skill and interest, Collaborative care with specialists, APPs, and care coordinators. Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree
  • Completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine
  • Eligible for South Carolina medical licensure
  • BLS certification required
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic abilities
  • Excellent communication and patient education skills
  • Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care
  • Ability to establish long-term patient relationships
  • Collaborative and team-oriented approach to medicine

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Perform preventive care visits, annual physicals, and wellness examinations
  • Order, review, and interpret laboratory, imaging, and diagnostic studies
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and provide ongoing follow-up care
  • Perform minor office-based procedures when applicable
  • Collaborate with APPs, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary care teams
  • Coordinate care with specialty providers and ancillary services
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EHR
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team meetings
