About The Position

Riverside Medical Group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Medicine Physician to join our team at our newest location in Smithfield, Virginia. As part of our expanding primary care network, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals and families across all stages of life. You will provide comprehensive, longitudinal care for patients of all ages.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine
  • A current, valid medical license to practice in the state of Virginia (or eligibility to obtain one)
  • A valid DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions
  • Conducting annual wellness visits and routine physical exams
  • Managing chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, and obesity
  • Administering age-appropriate immunizations and preventive screenings
  • Performing well-woman exams, including birth control counseling
  • Educating patients on health maintenance, lifestyle changes, and disease prevention
  • Collaborating with specialists and care teams to ensure coordinated, holistic care
