About The Position

We are seeking a Family Medicine Physician to join our compassionate, mission-driven healthcare team. General Description: § Hospital employed § Work Week 4.5 days per week with one half day of Administrative time for charting, callbacks etc. § Broad Scoped Family Practice with Peds, Walk Ins and Chronic Care Patients with Multiple Comorbidities § Simple Procedures such as excisional and punch biopsies, simple laceration repairs and I and D of simple abscesses a plus. § Splinting of simple fractures, a plus with referral to local Orthopedic team § Maintaining regular communication with hospital leadership and nursing directors to align departmental goals and strategies. Clinical Practice (Outpatient): § provide comprehensive, primary healthcare for individuals and families across all ages, genders, and diseases, serving as a patient's first point of contact. They diagnose/treat acute and chronic illnesses, offer preventive care (vaccinations, screenings), manage patient records, and coordinate care with specialists § Conduct physical exams, diagnoses, and treats acute illnesses (e.g., infections) and manages chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes, hypertension). § Perform routine checkups, vaccinations, immunizations, and provides counseling on health and lifestyle habits. § Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic tests (e.g., X-rays, blood work, EKGs). § Coordinate patient care with specialists, maintains electronic medical records (EMR), and provides comprehensive, patient-centered care. § Procedures include but are not limited to: Handles, in some settings, minor injuries and procedures such as laceration repair, joint injections, skin biopsies, and, in rural areas, potentially urgent care. Requirements

  • Medical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of adult medicine, human anatomy, and organ systems.
  • Diagnostic Skills: Ability to analyze complex medical data to make accurate diagnoses.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients and other medical professionals.
  • Problem-Solving: Critical thinking skills to solve complex diagnostic problems and manage multiple health conditions simultaneously.
  • Professionalism: Adherence to ethical standards and commitment to lifelong learning to stay updated on medical advancements.
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Family Medicine residency.
  • Must have Active NM license, DEA, & NM controlled substance registration
  • ACLS and PALS preferred
  • Commitment to serving a rural, underserved population.
  • Strong communication skills and dedication to patient-centered care.

  • Prefer ABEM/AOBEM Certified, BC/BE FP; IM; EM; AAPS (Will consider Non-Boarded with ER experience)
