About The Position

Skilled Wound Care is hiring Family Medicine Physicians to work as wound care physicians and lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities in Wilmington, Delaware. The role offers full-time or part-time work, clinical autonomy, hands-on procedures, and a weekday schedule without nights, weekends, call, or pagers. Physicians care for patients in skilled nursing facilities and the post-acute setting, following them through the healing process. Comprehensive wound care training is provided; prior wound care or procedural experience is not required.

Compensation for full-time physicians is listed as $250,000–$500,000 per year, with uncapped earning potential as an independent contractor. Pay is per patient and per procedure, with quarterly bonus programs; top performers may earn more than $500,000 through performance bonuses. Candidates must complete confidential pre-employment DiSC testing and relevant skills testing.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Unrestricted or clear medical license in the state of practice, or eligibility to obtain one.
• DEA license, or eligibility to obtain one.
• Complete pre-employment confidential DiSC testing and appropriate relevant skills testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform surgical and sharp debridement and other bedside procedures.
• Evaluate and treat chronic, non-healing, and complex wounds.
• Use advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols.
• Collaborate in skilled nursing facilities and the post-acute setting, following patients through healing.
• Lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities across the area.
