Under the direction of the Chief Behavioral Health Officer (CBHO) and CCBHC Medical Director, the Family Medicine-Psychiatry doctor is responsible for services related to medical appointments, family planning, sports physicals, and acute illnesses, as well as mental health assessments, management, referrals, and coordination of mental health services. Will collaborate with other Primary Care Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners and Behavioral Health providers. This family medicine-psychiatrist is responsible for performing medical and psychiatric assessments, medication management, and diagnostic evaluations of patients. Brief evidenced-based pharmacologic services are provided to children, adolescents, adults, and/or older adults in the primary care setting. Responds to and provides crisis intervention services when needed; ensures behavioral health services are delivered in a culturally appropriate fashion and is consistent with State of California laws and regulations, professional standards of care, agency guidelines, and professional ethical guidelines.
