About The Position

Texas Tech Physicians Department of Family and Community Medicine is a proud partner of University Medical Center in providing hospitalist care. The Family Medicine Hospitalist Team is made up of 18 Faculty Physicians, who provide hospitalist services for UMC/ 500 bed hospital. Rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor and applicable salary are dependent upon candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Requirements

• MD/DO or equivalent.
• Completion of an ACGME Accredited Residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
• Board certified, board eligible, or in the process of becoming board eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide Hospitalist Services at University Medical Center Hospital.
• Patient care, patient admissions, patient rounding, and if needed, emergency night coverage.
• Performing such medical examinations as are necessary and appropriate for all patients in accordance with all canons of professional ethics.
• Keeping and maintaining appropriate records, reports, claims and correspondence necessary in connection with all professional services performed by the physician.
• Participate in the training and mentoring of medical students, residents and fellows.
• Other duties as assigned by the Hospitalist Medical Director.
