Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of California Family Law experience
  • Strong knowledge of California Family Code and Rules of Court
  • Excellent legal writing skills
  • Ability to independently manage Family Law cases
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Trial preparation experience
  • Dissomaster/Xspouse experience
  • CARET Legal or similar case management software
  • Adobe Acrobat
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Experience preparing complex financial documents

Responsibilities

  • Drafting Petitions, Summons, Requests for Order, Responsive Pleadings, Declarations, Judgments, and Stipulations
  • Preparing and responding to Discovery
  • Preparing Preliminary and Final Declarations of Disclosure
  • Preparing Income and Expense Declarations
  • Preparing hearing and trial notebooks
  • Managing deadlines and litigation calendars
  • Electronic filing in California courts
  • Communicating professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and experts
  • Organizing and maintaining case files
  • Assisting attorneys with hearings, settlement conferences, and trial preparation
  • Working independently while collaborating with the legal team
