The role focuses on litigation, courtroom advocacy, mediations, and trials, with dedicated teams handling intake, drafting, and trial preparation. Requirements

  • Active Texas Bar license or documented reciprocity process underway.
  • Minimum 3+ years of family law litigation experience; OR 5+ years of civil litigation experience with a demonstrated interest in transitioning into family law.
  • Strong courtroom experience handling contested hearings, motions, mediations, and/or trials.
  • Experience taking depositions and preparing witnesses.
  • Ability to manage emotionally sensitive matters with professionalism and emotional intelligence.
  • Strong advocacy, negotiation, and litigation strategy skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in high-conflict situations.

Responsibilities

  • Argue contested hearings, temporary orders hearings, and family law trials.
  • Lead mediations and adversarial settlement negotiations.
  • Conduct depositions and prepare clients and witnesses for testimony.
  • Develop litigation strategies and take over matters when negotiations fail.
  • Review and revise motions, pleadings, and responses prepared by the drafting/paralegal team.
  • Guide clients through court appearances with a trauma-informed and client-centered approach.
  • Serve as the lead courtroom advocate while leveraging internal support teams for drafting, intake, and trial preparation.
  • Collaborate with dedicated paralegals responsible for exhibit binders, trial notebooks, and hearing preparation.
