Family Engagement Specialist
About The Position
People Incorporated of Virginia is seeking a Family Engagement Specialist at its Bristol Head Start Center. The specialist provides in-home services to clients enrolled in Head Start and Early Head Start. The successful candidate is service-minded, knowledgeable about community resources and basic early childhood education, and team-focused. The role supports family growth, education, and development by working with and communicating effectively with individuals from several socioeconomic backgrounds. The position also requires awareness of how one’s values and ethics affect work with families. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for 40 hours per week. The position is open until filled.
Requirements
- A degree or certification in early childhood education (ECE) and/or human services management (HMS), and related experience.
- Ability to work with and effectively communicate with individuals from several socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Ability to articulate awareness of how personal values and ethics affect work with families.
- Service-minded, knowledgeable about community resources and basic early childhood education, and team-focused.
