About The Position

Easterseals Vermont is seeking a mission-driven and family-friendly Family Engagement Specialist to join their team. This role involves facilitating family meetings and providing in-home support to strengthen families. The specialist will coach parents on safe and nurturing interactions with their children in DCF custody, support parents in meeting their children's needs, and engage extended family members to explore support systems and create genograms. The position requires understanding complex family issues such as trauma, substance use, domestic violence, mental health, and generational poverty. Extensive training and supervision are provided.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field preferred
• Two years of human services experience preferred
• Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a background check are required
• Your own reliable vehicle with insurance that meets our coverage limits is required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating family meetings

• Supporting parents to meet the needs of their children in the moment
• Calling extended family members to explore familial support
• Creating genograms
