About The Position
The Oakville School District is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Family Engagement & Healthy Habits Coordinator. This full-time position aims to foster strong partnerships between families and the school community while promoting healthy lifestyle choices among students and their families. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a commitment to community engagement, and a strong understanding of health and wellness initiatives. This position is dependent on grant funding year to year. Hiring for the current 2026/2027 school year.
Requirements
- High School Diploma and para pro certified or Associates Degree or 72 quarter credits/48 semester credits
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- The ability to work as a team member
- Ability to support academic instruction under teacher/coordinator guidance
- Reliable and responsible
- Functional knowledge of technology
- Criminal justice fingerprint clearance
- Ability to obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card
Nice To Haves
- One year experience working with youth preferred
Responsibilities
- Coordinate family engagement activities and events.
- Communicate program information, schedules, and updates to families.
- Encourage family participation and connection with the program.
- Help create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all families.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with CACFP and OSPI requirements.
- Follow approved menus, meal patterns, portion requirements, and food safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate meal counts and required CACFP documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food preparation area.
- Monitor food inventory and communicate purchasing and supply needs.
- Properly store, label, and rotate food supplies.
- Follow all applicable health, safety, sanitation, and school/district food service policies.
- Complete required CACFP training and documentation.
