About The Position

To ensure active and meaningful family engagement by leading parent education, family leadership, family engagement initiatives, and successful transitions from enrollment through program exit while supporting Family Service Staff across all program options. Language: Bilingual in Spanish OR Cantonese preferred.

Requirements

  • Minimum three years of experience working with children and families, with proven experience working alongside diverse populations.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Child Development, Human Services, Education, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Head Start/Early Head Start standards and local community resources preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and ChildPlus data management systems.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate services across multiple program options.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to maintain collaborative communication with diverse staff, families, and community partners.
  • Ability to interpret family engagement metrics and documentation trends to recommend targeted program improvements.
  • Highly skilled in developing training, workshops, and educational strategies that meet changing parent and family needs.
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills; must be able to effectively exchange information, facilitate workshops, and communicate seamlessly with staff and families.
  • Regularly required to move across multiple program options (Center-Based, Home Visiting, and FCCHEN settings) to provide coaching and support.
  • Ability to function effectively in professional office environments, childcare centers, and community spaces.
  • Regularly required to monitor and analyze documentation quality, solve complex family service challenges, and manage reporting requirements under tight timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate agency-wide family engagement initiatives; develop family engagement resources, workshops, and engagement campaigns.
  • Coordinate Parent Ambassadors, Family Committees, and parent leadership opportunities.
  • Develop and coordinate parent education including financial literacy, parenting education, health education, and family learning opportunities.
  • Support family engagement from enrollment, orientation, and onboarding through transition and program completion; coordinate Pre-K to Kindergarten and other transition activities.
  • Coach Family Service Staff (FSS) on family engagement best practices and strategies; provide coaching, technical assistance, and training to FSS.
  • Support Center-Based, Home Visiting, and FCCHEN programs, ensuring the implementation of the Parent, Family and Community Engagement (PFCE) Framework.
  • Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and agency policies; conduct monitoring, quality assurance, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Monitor ChildPlus documentation, file quality, and family services requirements; analyze family engagement data and recommend improvements.
  • Develop and update policies, procedures, forms, and family service tools; maintain regular communication with staff and families to support quality program performance.
  • Collaborate with other content areas to support children and families; participate in Self-Assessment and other program improvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
