About The Position
West Central Community Action is seeking a Family Development Specialist for their FaDSS Program. Family Development Specialists provide a comprehensive system of support that empowers and nurtures families towards self-sufficiency while maintaining and building strong relationships. This is a Full-Time, 40 hours per week, year-round position based in Council Bluffs, Iowa, requiring work with clients within a 10-county coverage area.
Requirements
- Organized and proficient in interpreting rules and regulations pertaining to programs for low-income families.
- Strong computer proficiency and working knowledge of web-based programs.
- High School Diploma required.
- Valid Driver's license.
- Valid auto liability insurance.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Arts or Science in Social Work or Human Services preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct meetings with program participants within the participant's home.
- Provide a comprehensive system of support that empowers and nurtures families towards self-sufficiency.
- Maintain and build strong relationships with families.
- Complete the Family Development Specialist certification training.
- Regular travel within the 10-county area may be required.
