Opportunity awaits! We are hiring a Family Coach (Bilingual in Spanish/English is preferred but not required) to join our team. In this position, you will negotiate coaching contracts with the adults in the home, utilize the continuum of Jobs activities, support both the adults need as well as the family's needs to attain the goal of employment.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.
  • A bachelor's degree in a Behavioral Science, Social Science, or a closely related field OR A bachelor's degree in any field AND one year of human services related experience (i.e., work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economically disadvantaged, employment, abuse and neglect, substance abuse, aging, disabilities, prevention, health, cultural competencies, inadequate housing) OR An associate degree in a Behavioral Science, Social Science or a closely related field AND two years of human services related experience (i.e., work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economically disadvantaged, employment, abuse and neglect, substance abuse, aging, disabilities, prevention, health, cultural competencies, inadequate housing) OR Three years of human services related experience (i.e., work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economically disadvantaged, employment, abuse and neglect, substance abuse, aging, disabilities, prevention, health, cultural competencies, inadequate housing).
  • Experience working with individuals in crisis, including those who may be experiencing domestic violence and housing instability
  • Experience initiating and maintaining professional boundaries/relationships.
  • Experience with case management and coordinating high caseloads.
  • Experience applying principles of diversity, equity and inclusion within the workplace
  • Ability to utilize multiple software systems, process data, and problem solve to meet accuracy and timeliness goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist families in becoming independent, healthy and safe through ongoing coaching, collaboration and coordination.
  • Conduct interviews to determine family needs and eligibility.
  • Explore alternate resources and link clients to community services.
  • Complete program applications for program benefits and, if eligible, issue appropriate support payments.
  • Engage clients in the family evaluation of strengths.
  • Develop a case plan and identify the family's steps towards self-sufficiency.
  • Monitor progress and conditions and make necessary modifications to the case plan.
  • Initiate and participate in case staffing, employment readiness, life skills training, and support job search, as needed.
