Family Child Care Coordinator
About The Position
The Family Child Care Coordinator (FCCC) manages and implements the Family Child Care Option program under the guidance of the Area Manager. This role involves connecting families to licensed providers, conducting site visits, and fostering relationships with local agencies. The FCCC coordinates training, workshops, and parent engagement to create a nurturing and educational environment for children ages 0-5. Candidates must be fluent in two or more languages, with one supporting the needs of the program and community. Unofficial transcripts are required before application processing, with verification of Child Development/Early Childhood Education coursework needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development (CD), or related field.
- Two years of teaching experience with children ages 0-5.
- Minimum of twelve ECE/CD core units and three infant/toddler development units (or completion within one year of employment).
- Experience in a licensed day care center or comparable home day care for children ages 0-5.
- Dependable, insured transportation and a valid California Driver License.
- Candidates must be fluent in two or more languages, including one that supports the needs of the program and community.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in public relations, presentations, training, and workshops is highly desirable.
- If working for the State Child Development program, must hold or qualify for a Site Supervisor Permit within 30 days of employment.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, enroll, and re-certify children in the Family Child Care Program.
- Promote parent involvement, provide program orientation, and support families in identifying resources and setting goals.
- Conduct site visits to monitor and support child care providers.
- Provide training and technical assistance to child care providers.
- Develop educational materials for child care providers.
- Ensure providers meet program standards and state requirements.
- Build strong partnerships with child care providers, offering on-site training, support, and educational resources.
- Perform administrative tasks.
- Maintain records.
- Assist in updating and implementing program policies.
- Conduct monthly parent and provider meetings.
- Attend relevant trainings to enhance program quality.
