The Family Centered Treatment (FCT) Therapist provides evidence-based psychotherapeutic services to children, adolescents, and families using the Family Centered Treatment model. Services are delivered in families’ homes and communities and are hands-on, relationship-driven, and grounded in clinical best practices. The therapist guides families through the four phases of the FCT model, collaborates with the Treatment Team on individualized Service Plans, conducts assessments, and provides therapeutic interventions and psychoeducation aligned with treatment goals. The role coordinates care with medical, behavioral health, school, and community partners; supports families with goal-setting, skill-building, and access to community resources; and develops discharge and aftercare plans. The therapist maintains timely, accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Record and participates in quality assurance activities. This is community-based work with a flexible schedule shaped by family needs. Services are often provided outside traditional business hours, and the therapist provides 24/7 on-call coverage for their assigned caseload to offer crisis support. FCT Certification is required within one year of employment to continue providing services. The employer supports certification through structured checkoffs, required trainings, and an e-learning platform.
