About The Position

Saint Francis Ministries is seeking a Family Centered Treatment Specialist or Therapist to provide intensive prevention services to families in their homes. This role focuses on helping families develop solutions and skills to reduce risks and maintain wholeness. New hires will undergo online training and work towards FCT Certification. The position offers the flexibility to work from home when not in sessions with families, with a caseload limited to 5 families. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, works well independently and as part of a team, and is open to constructive feedback.

Requirements

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required for daily communication with Spanish-speaking clients and community members.
  • Bachelor’s degree in social or family services (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Sociology).
  • If licensed, must be in good standing with Kansas BSRB.
  • At least one year of experience working with children and families.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must pass a drug screen, MVR, KBI, Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry Clearance Check, and an Adult Registry check.
  • Must pass an FBI Fingerprint Check.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation.
  • Mandated Reporter, ability to monitor safety and address safety concerns.
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of child and adolescent development and family systems.
  • Ability to collaborate with families, friends, and other agencies.
  • Ability to work with all cultures, using a culturally competent model.
  • Flexible to changing situations, ability to work evenings and weekends if needed by the family.
  • Able to solve problems and make independent judgments to effect change, but also able and willing to seek assistance when necessary.
  • Works alone effectively, self-motivated, works effectively with others, and ability to receive feedback.
  • Understands and practices Universal Precautions.
  • Ability to travel and provide in-home services.

  • Achieve FCT Certification from the FCT Foundation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned caseloads limited to 5 families, with an average of 4 hours per week per family and a minimum of 2 weekly contacts.
  • Enroll in Wheels of Change and complete FCT certification within 1 year of the start date.
  • Attend and participate in weekly team supervision meetings for case reviews and feedback.
  • Complete and maintain all program fidelity documents, reports, and assessments in a timely manner, reflecting FCT language.
  • Provide intervention to families in crisis situations.
  • Deliver FCT in-home family treatment, adhering to and ensuring fidelity to the FCT model.
  • Prioritize cases for multiple clients.
  • Serve as a liaison with DCF, courts, schools, other providers, and the community.
  • Complete and maintain all program fidelity documents in a timely manner.
  • Complete reports for court and attend court when needed.
