About The Position
The Center for Human Development (CHD) is seeking a Family Caseworker to join their Diversion, Shelter and Housing (DSH) program. This role will involve working with families experiencing homelessness to connect them with resources and stable housing. The caseworker will provide direct services to program clients residing in one of CHD's shelter programs. CHD is committed to celebrating differences and inclusion, and is a multicultural, multilingual organization that reflects the diverse populations it serves.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience working with a homeless population
- Strong interpersonal skills; empathy for others; demonstrated commitment to serving those with significant needs
- Must have a vehicle for work use and current driver's license; able to maintain clear and distinct boundaries
- All candidates must complete and pass background record screening process
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual candidates fluent in Spanish or Haitian Creole are encouraged to apply
Responsibilities
- Constant supervision of individuals within the shelter
- Motivate individuals to maintain apartment/house upkeep
- Monitor individuals are adhering to agency and funder guidelines including curfew and health and safety guidelines
- Encourage individuals to maintain constant communication with caseworker and housing specialist
- Adhere to all other standards as set forth by CHD
