The Family Case Manager position at Indian Head Elementary School, within the Charles County Public Schools system, is a 12-month, non-exempt role. This position is responsible for coordinating with the Judy Center Instructional Specialist to plan and implement programming for children and families. The role facilitates student entry into CCPS by assisting families with prekindergarten applications and kindergarten registration, and introduces English Language (EL) students and parents to the school setting and culture. The Family Case Manager serves as a liaison for families to improve academic achievement and encourage active participation in their children's education through Judy Center programs, school meetings, and workshops. This role also facilitates the collaboration of community resources and promotes family and individual connections within Charles County, specifically in Judy Center catchment areas. Responsibilities include researching international family needs, developing and assisting during parent workshops/meetings, collaborating with other Judy Center schools, and explaining school policies and procedures. The position also facilitates long-term collaboration between the school system and community agencies, participates in school meetings and training, and attends IEP, SST, and parent/teacher conferences as necessary. Additionally, the role involves conducting home visits, actively conducting outreach to identify children aged 0-4 within Judy Center catchment areas before school entry, collaborating with teachers for referrals and consents for services, and attending health/dental appointments with families.
