About The Position

Family Care Consultants are often the very first person a family talks to when they need help navigating the complexities of caring for older adults. This role involves making initial contact with families and referral partners, understanding their needs through thoughtful questioning, and guiding them towards appropriate resources and Nolia's services. Consultants will explain program details, answer insurance-related questions, schedule appointments, maintain CRM records, and collaborate with clinical teams for smooth handoffs. The position requires balancing empathy with clear performance goals related to call volume, appointments, and enrollments. This role is particularly suited for individuals re-entering the workforce, offering a remote, flexible, and hourly structure that allows for work-life balance while engaging in meaningful work that directly assists families during challenging times.

Requirements

  • Ability to build trust quickly and make people feel comfortable being honest.
  • Strong listening skills, adapting conversations to the individual without a script.
  • Genuine warmth and humanity on the phone; ability to show care.
  • Capacity to handle difficult emotional moments with empathy while moving the conversation forward.
  • Comfort with performance metrics and clear goals (calls, appointments, enrollments).
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple conversations simultaneously.
  • No specific degree or industry background required; focus on how you show up on the phone.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience in customer service, client success, inside sales, care coordination, patient access, or operational support roles.
  • Experience working with older adults, family caregivers, healthcare organizations, behavioral health, social services.
  • Familiarity with dementia care, caregiving challenges, aging-related conditions, or healthcare navigation.
  • Experience working in a startup or rapidly growing organization.

Responsibilities

  • Field inbound and outbound calls, emails, and messages from families and referral partners seeking help.
  • Ask thoughtful questions to understand what a caregiver or family actually needs, and help them find the right next step.
  • Walk families through Nolia's programs and services, including answering insurance-related questions.
  • Schedule appointments and keep accurate, timely notes in our CRM.
  • Work closely with clinicians and care navigators to make sure families are handed off smoothly.
  • Balance genuine empathy with clear daily goals around call volume, appointments, and enrollments.
