About The Position

Family-Based Treatment Therapist (Master's Level) is a full-time, salaried, exempt position that involves providing quality clinical services to clients and families. The role requires flexibility with rotating shifts and occasional evening and weekend hours. The therapist will work with at-risk children and adolescents, providing individual, group, and family therapy, and coordinating treatment with various stakeholders. This position also involves designing treatment plans, managing therapeutic foster parents, intervening in external programs, and providing training to caregivers.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited university in the area of social work or counseling
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Must be eligible for clinical license
  • Prior experience working with at-risk children/adolescence
  • Driver’s License Must be in good standing

Responsibilities

  • Meets with clients, families and treatment parents within departmental guidelines to provide quality clinical services including individual, group and family therapy while taking into consideration cultural and economic factors that influence behavior and utilizing various therapeutic approaches including CBT, TF-CBT, Behavior Management and TBRI.
  • Provide psychotherapy services to clients in therapeutic foster care.
  • Actively and effectively participates and coordinates treatment with the treatment team, therapeutic foster family, biological family and collaterals.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation of client assessments, evaluations and progress submitted in the agency allotted time frames.
  • Designs a treatment plan or other therapeutic programs that meet the needs of the client based on diagnoses, age and developmental issues.
  • Effectively manages therapeutic foster parents and actively takes measures to prevent placement disruptions.
  • Appropriately intervenes systemically in schools, court and other programs in which the student participates.
  • Provides training to treatment parents, biological parents and other pertinent caregivers that relate to the client’s needs, diagnoses, age and developmental issues.
  • Provide behavioral and mental health training for foster parents.
  • Must be a team player and involved in overall client treatment.
