About The Position

Merakey is seeking a Family Based Therapist to join their team in Kennett Square, PA, supporting the Chester County area. This role involves providing treatment services to families, including therapy and counseling for children and families. The therapist will assist with skills training and education to help families care for their children at home. This position requires flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and travel to client homes, other agencies, and community resources. The therapist will facilitate individual and family therapy sessions, parent coaching, and crisis intervention using an Eco-systemic Structural Family Therapy (ESFT) model for children experiencing behavioral health problems and at risk of out-of-home placement. The role ensures necessary service linkages and community supports for each child and family. Therapists will receive extensive training and supervision in the ESFT model. Requirements

• Master’s Degree in psychiatry, psychology, social work, nursing, education, rehabilitation or a graduate degree in the field of human services.
• A minimum of 2 years experience in a CASSP program, experience must be with children and adolescents and include direct service.
• A valid Pennsylvania Driver's license and access to reliable transportation is a requirement.

Nice To Haves

• Experience facilitating family therapy and/or crisis intervention, de-escalation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide treatment services to families, including therapy and counseling to children and families.
• Assist with skills training and education designed to enable families to care for their children at home.
• Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of children and families.
• Travel to client homes, other agencies, and community resources for community and home-based services.
• Facilitate individual and family therapy sessions, parent coaching, and crisis intervention using an Eco-systemic Structural Family Therapy (ESFT) model.
• Intervene with families of children experiencing behavioral health problems and at risk of out-of-home placement.
• Ensure every child and family has the necessary service linkages and community supports.
• Collaborate with a case manager as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide time-limited intensive community-based ESFT treatment.
