This position involves planning and implementing a program of study in Family and Consumer Science, specifically Culinary Arts, that meets the individual needs, interests, diverse backgrounds, and abilities of students. The role includes assisting in curriculum development, creating a conducive learning environment, guiding the learning process, employing appropriate instructional methods, assessing student progress, and diagnosing learning strengths and weaknesses. The educator will also counsel with colleagues, students, and parents, assist administration with student life and conduct policies, and manage classroom behavior. Additionally, the role involves supervising support personnel and volunteers, utilizing technology in teaching, maintaining accurate records, performing Medicaid administrative claims reimbursable activities, adhering to ethical codes, supporting school improvement initiatives, and recognizing and acting on indicators of student distress or abuse. An appropriate testing environment and test security must be established. Eligible vocational work experience (minimum 3 years) and attainment of appropriate industry certification may be applicable.
