About The Position

The Family Advocate supports individuals and families by assessing their needs and helping them access social and community resources and benefits. Programs include Visitation Coaching, Family Based Services, and Transportation. The role is in person, Monday through Friday, and includes paid training and onboarding. No prior experience or education is required. The organization’s mission is to reeducate, rebuild, and reunify foster children and their biological families to prevent future abuse and neglect. It seeks to support the whole family for the greater good of the children. Duties may change and additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Team Manager or Management.

Requirements

No prior experience or education is required; paid training is provided.
Solid computer skills, particularly using the G Suite platform.
Problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify strengths and weaknesses of different solutions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to gather and process information from diverse sources and make informed decisions.
Organizational ability to set goals, prioritize tasks, and execute plans efficiently.
Desire to serve the community with a servant leadership approach.

Responsibilities

Assess families to identify their specific needs and challenges.
Collaborate with DPHHS-CFSD to design, organize, and lead programs addressing family well-being.
Help families access formal and informal social and community resources.
Analyze problems using logical reasoning and identify effective solutions and approaches.
Communicate clearly and professionally in writing and verbally.
Use computer skills, particularly with the G Suite platform.
Proactively help staff and clients access resources.
Prioritize tasks, set achievable goals, and organize plans to complete work duties.
Perform additional responsibilities deemed essential by the Team Manager or Management.
