About The Position

Provides crisis assessment and intervention, risk assessment and safety planning and support for children and non-offending caregivers in cases of alleged child abuse. Assesses individual needs, and cultural considerations for child/family and ensures those needs are addressed. Assists with procuring concrete services (housing, protection orders, food, transportation, public assistance, etc.). Provides referrals for trauma focused, evidence-supported mental health. Supports, responds, refers, advocates, informs and documents the care of patients seen. Serves as a member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) providing information, insight, and advocating for the best interests of the child and non-offending caregiver throughout the case. Delivers care in accordance with established standards of performance. Follows up with families throughout the life of the case and assists with any needs or questions that may arise. Performs other tasks as assigned by the Director.

Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Human Services.
  • Individuals who provide victim advocacy services for children and families at the Children's Advocacy Centers (CAC) must demonstrate participation in ongoing education in the field of victim advocacy roles and ensure seamless coordination of victim advocacy services.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum two years’ experience working with children and families preferred.
  • Training and experience in working with multidisciplinary teams and the court system preferred.
