About The Position

The Family Advocate supports families in achieving their goals by providing individualized services, coordinating resources, and promoting engagement in CPCD programs. This role focuses on strengthening family outcomes through meaningful relationships, collaborative planning, and connection to community resources, with an emphasis on 2Gen career pathway opportunities. At CPCD, we provide more than 1,100 children living in poverty, or who are challenged by special circumstances, with an early childhood education through Head Start, Early Head Start, and the Universal Preschool Program. Our additional health, dental, and family support services ensure that children enrolled in our programs are ready to succeed in school and life. Requirements

  • A minimum of 36 semester hours of college credits.
  • Experience working with families.
  • Experience with community resources.
  • Experience working with people in crisis situations.
  • Candidates without an Associate’s Degree in social work, human services, family services, counseling will commit to completing the Family Development Credential program within 18 months of their date of hire.
  • Knowledge and ability to use various computer software programs (i.e. Microsoft Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination, TB test, drug test (including marijuana), and background check in accordance with the Office of Head Start Performance Standards and Childcare Licensing.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation.
  • If using a personal vehicle must maintain minimum liability insurance as determined by the State of Colorado.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, family services, counseling or related field or equivalent college credits (48 semester hours)
  • Two or more years experience in working with families and community resources, and working with people in crises situations.
