About The Position

As a member of the Global Markets team, you’ll be delivering innovative banking and investment solutions to CIBC’s retail, wealth and business clients including corporates, governments and institutional clients around the world. You’ll be joining our Equity Research team and will be provided the opportunity to gain experience in the Energy sector coverage team. Requirements

  • You are enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Commerce, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics or related at the time of the internship, with a graduation date no sooner than April 2027.
  • Demonstrate strong technical, quantitative, and analytical skills, with keen interest in the financial markets and proven record of academic success, teamwork and extracurricular involvement.
  • You have demonstrated interest in Capital Markets.
  • You are highly motivated, accomplished and a success-oriented individual who has a keen interest in pursuing a career in the financial services industry demonstrated through school courses, clubs and/or related work experience.
  • You have a proven record of academic success, teamwork and extracurricular involvement.
  • You are organized and work gracefully under pressure.
  • You can juggle multiple tasks and prioritize work to make timely decisions and take appropriate action.

  • It’s an asset if you have a strong understanding of or experience with financial reporting.
  • Proficiency with MS Power BI is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Gain experience in the Energy sector coverage team.
  • Take the lead with projects and tasks that will provide the opportunity to learn about the Capital Markets industry and to develop the skills required for solid financial analysis.
  • Gain valuable knowledge of the process involved in writing research reports, forecasting, researching and analyzing companies, industries and market trends.
  • Partner with your team to make an impact by applying a technical skillset to help generate insights and/or optimize processes.
  • Showcase highly effective written, oral and presentation skills with an ability to explain complex concepts.
