About The Position

The Fair Futures Program Supervisor leads the coaching services and program implementation in collaboration with the Enhanced Foster Care Director to implement a cohesive program service model for youth. The Supervisor will support Fair Futures Coaches, Employment, Housing and Education Specialists to help youth and young adults to set and achieve individual goals and objectives. By working with all LSSNY Children's Services management teams and staff, the supervisor supports a comprehensive model of assessment, goal planning, and continuous evaluation to ensure youth achieve individual goals and objectives as they move towards independence.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field required.
  • Two plus years of supervisory and leadership experience.
  • Two plus years of experience working with difficult-to-engage adolescents.
  • Knowledge of working with foster care youth and children and families at-risk.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to think critically and execute good judgement.
  • Ability to interpret data to inform decision-making.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with consumers and co-workers.
  • Experience and facility with Microsoft Office Applications
  • Has demonstrated commitment to an equity-centered approach to working with system-involved youth.
  • Capacity for creative problem-solving, conflict resolution, and violence prevention.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of city, state, and federal juvenile justice and foster care systems, policies, and issues.
  • Effective interpersonal speaking, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Results oriented with a drive for continuous program evaluation and improvement.
  • Pursue everything with energy and drive; ability to guide others for results.
  • Must be positive, hardworking, patient, organized, and friendly, with a sense of humor.
  • Ability to navigate throughout New York City using public transportation.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed (beyond traditional 9 – 5 hours)

Nice To Haves

  • Training and experience in trauma-informed practices, Motivational Interviewing, and or Restorative Practices is a plus.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as part of the management team, providing supervision of activities, as needed.
  • Develop and maintain service plan systems and processes to help staff work with youth in developing and progressing through their service plans.
  • Collaborate with the Case Planning Units, Tutors, Specialists, and foster/birth parents, as needed, to help youth achieve their goals and ensure their overall well-being.
  • Participate in Family Team Conferences and Treatment Plan meetings.
  • Implement the intake process to effectively assess youth and develop appropriate case plans and service provisions.
  • Track and monitor and report the change and achievement of goals through plans in the program database and Connections.
  • Implement a program evaluation process to support the continuous improvement and program adherence goals of the program.
  • Develop reports and outcomes for contracts that support the program.
  • Develop groups and pro-social activities, trips, and appropriate support groups.
  • Create systems to increase parental engagement and support families and support groups.
  • Work with administrative staff to create monthly activities calendar.
  • Collaborate with Children's Services programs to develop strategies to engage youth in programming at LSSNY.
  • Share information about the progress and activities of the program.
  • Monitor program expenditures and invoice reconciliation with the support of the finance liaison.
  • Collaborate with other LSSNY divisions to bring resources to the program.
  • Other duties as required by direct supervisor or needs of the program/agency.
