About The Position

Failure Analysis Engineering Technician to support hands‑on failure analysis of semiconductor devices and day‑to‑day FA lab operations. This role will perform failure analysis to identify the cause of device failures, review test data, document results, and work closely with engineering teams to drive corrective action. You will also support FA operations by helping coordinate hardware, tooling, and international shipments between San Diego, Mexico, and Singapore, ensuring labs remain ready and operational. This position offers hands‑on lab experience, exposure to global FA operations, and close collaboration with Product, Design, Quality, and Foundry Engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, Physics, Materials Science, or related field
  • Hands‑on experience in a semiconductor, test, lab, or hardware debug environment
  • Experience supporting failure analysis, test, or lab operations
  • Ability to manage multiple analysis cases and operational tasks concurrently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Frequently transports and installs equipment weighing at least 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform failure analysis on semiconductor IC devices and systems to identify electrical and physical causes of failure
  • Act as case owner for FA issues
  • Review and interpret test data logs as part of investigations
  • Perform non‑destructive analysis using imaging and optical inspection tools (e.g., X‑ray, C‑SAM, microscopy, Curve Tracing)
  • Conduct electrical fault isolation and bench‑level debug to identify areas of interest
  • Perform physical analysis on packages, modules, or individual ICs when required
  • Document analysis results, summarize findings, identify root cause, and communicate conclusions to requesting teams
  • Support FA hardware, tooling, fixtures, consumables, and lab equipment requests
  • Support international logistics and shipping of FA tools and materials.
  • Assist with shipment requests, documentation collection, and approval tracking
  • Coordinate with Procurement, Logistics, and external vendors to help resolve shipping issues
  • Confirm receipt of tools, hardware and materials; perform basic functionality and readiness checks
  • Assist with vendor coordination related to deliveries, repairs, returns, or replacements
  • Support facilities coordination required to install or enable FA equipment
  • Submit and track facilities requests related to utilities, mounting, or lab infrastructure
  • Support FA lab operations across San Diego, Tijuana, and Singapore
  • Communicate clear status updates across geographically distributed teams
